A Confession of A Shopaholic Part 1...

Last Thursday, I finally embarked on my shopping spree at Suria KLCC. Being the last day of the semester break and the last month of the Malaysia Mega Sales Carnival, I can't possibly miss out on the chance to splurge on new branded clothes. It's the perfect time to buy new clothes. Imagine all branded clothes that are usually priced more than hundreds of ringgits are marked down by 40%, 50% and even 70% of their normal price! The thought of wearing new clothes and enjoying a decent meal in a restaurant excites me that I told myself I must not miss out this year's mega sale or I'll regret it. After all, this is probably the only time in my life where I have the time to enjoy myself. After I graduate from college next year, I would probably be working my ass off. And besides, I have been wearing the same clothes for 4 years now. Yup, you heard me right. The last time I have new clothes to wear was when I was in form 3. I didn't care much because I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. However, now that I'm working and saving a lot, I think I deserve some new clothes.

After pondering on where to shop for good clothes, I decided to go to Suria KLCC. After all, it's just a 20 minute bus ride from my house and it has all the branded clothes I'll need. I embarked on my shopping spree at around 12.30p.m.
My budget: RM200.

If I ran out of money.....

I still have my trusty new Visa debit card

As soon I arrived, I scouted every corners in Suria KLCC to find the best bargains for clothes that are within my budget. I don't want to end up paying >RM 300 for a piece of T-shirt.

Therefore, after scouting for about half an hour, I've decided to try my luck at the following shops:

ISETAN

Parkson

Marks and Spencer

Well, before I sprint to their fitting rooms to try on the clothes, my tummy was starting to grumble. It's already 1.30 p.m. and I haven't eaten my lunch. Therefore, time to search for a good restaurant. Being a food enthusiast myself, I read a lot of of "flogs" when I surf the internet. Flog = Food blogs

Therefore, I have already decided on where I wanted to eat before I went to Suria KLCC.

The Manhattan Fish Market.

Here's a tip, when you want to have lunch at KLCC, it's better to wait after lunch hour to avoid congestion. Have your lunch around after 1.30p.m.

After being greeted and seated by the waiter standing in front, I continued to select from the variety of food in the menu. After looking at the menu, I decided to have as Fried Country Mushroom as my appetizer.

Being a fan of mushrooms, I can't say no to this.

The fried mushrooms also come with 3 sauces for you to dip in. From the left is mayonnaise, sweet and sour chilli sauce and garlic.

When the plate of mushrooms arrived, I was a little sceptical on the taste. They looked like balls of cornflour with nothing else.

However,

One bite on the mushrooms was heavenly. The skin of the fried mushrooms was crunchy and fluffy while inside of the fried mushrooms were really MUSHROOMS!!! (Sorry for the blur image)

As my main course, I chose The Grilled Catch of The Day which was Norweign Fish on that day.

The dish arrived with a big fish fillet with lots of french fries, a slice of lemon and a slice of tomato. The big fish fillet was nicely baked with butter sauce and herbs.

The fish fillet was nicely done and not overcooked. The meat was smooth and sweet with a hint of butter and spices. Being a fan of fish, I really don't mind finishing this big fish fillet on my own. In fact, I'm glad it came in this big portion compared to the overpriced fine dining restaurants.

The word big is already an understatement. The meal was so enourmous that I find it hard to finish.

The total damage :

Orange Juice = RM6.90
Fried Country Mushroom = RM9.90

Grill Catch of The Day = RM18.90

Service Charge (10%) = RM 3.57

Tax = RM 1.79
__________________________
Grand total = RM41.05

It may look expensive but it's definitely worth the price considering it's good service and good food. For more details, click here http://www.suriaklcc.com.my/index.php?module=ShoppingDetails&_prod_id=296

Will be continued....

Couch Potato

It's only my fifth day of the semester break and I'm starting to turn into a couch potato. I've been so busy lately that there are so many movies that I haven't even watch. While other people are busy shopping and watching movies with their gf or bf, I've been busy working, doing assignmets and studying. So now I'm spending my time watching the movies that I've missed so far, alone........ Sigh, yeap I'm still single. What to do? I'm too handsome and good for any girls to approach me.

Too perasan.

Anyway, I've found a website that allow watch full-length movies for free. Introducing Megavideo!!!! This website is even bettter than youtube as it doesn't have a time limit for every videos uploaded. That means you can upload a 2-hour movie without splitting it into dozens of smaller parts that only last for 10 minutes. Plus, they even offer movies that are in high definition (HD) quality. However, you'll need a good pc and fast broadband too watch it in HD.

The last time I tried it, my pc became so slow that I can't even open other applications properly. ~Sigh~, 5 year old computer, what to expect? Our slow streamyx tortoise broadband made it even impossible to watch videos in HD. Do you know why their company is called TM Net. It's an acronym for :

TM Net = Tortoise-Moving Net

Anyway, you can still opt to watch the videos in normal quality. Some of the videos are dvd-rip quality. That means the videos are ripped from original DVDs. If you can find those videos, you're lucky. If you can't, some CAM videos are still ok.

Here are some of my favourites:

1. BOLT

DVD-Rip quality. Nice :)

2. Ice Age 3

CAM video. Not bad. Still can see and listen to what they do and say.

3. Just Follow Law

I'm sure you recognize the person in the picture, right. As you can guess, any movie with Gurmit Singh (aka Phua Chu Kang) inside sure must be funny one. A film directed by Jack Neo who also produced Ah Long Pte Ltd, I'm not stupid, Money No enough, etc.

Sadly this one is from youtube. If you can find a better one, tell me.

Tip:
  1. Press the fullscreen button for better watching experience
  2. You are only allowed to watch 72 minutes of video per session. So if, the message "you have watch 72 minutes bla bla bla" pops out just restart your internet connection and click from the point it stopped.

Woo....hooo. finally, holiday season is here!!!

Finally after 16 weeks of torture and hardwork in college, the holiday season is finally here! Every second I spent on my assignments and preparing for the exams, my heart longed for this day to come! All the anxiety and urge to spend the whole day relaxing accumulated so much during the 16 weeks that it's just made this holiday experience priceless. Plus, the Malaysia mega sale carnival is here until the 31st of August. Woo hoo!!! It couldn't get any better than this. Man, those shopping malls sure know their timing to dig my wallet.

After my last exam on the 25th of July, questions started popping up in my head like mushrooms.

  1. How should I spend my holidays
  2. What should I do?
  3. What should I buy?
  4. Where should I go?
  5. What's the latest promotion?
  6. Where's the best place to dine at?
  7. What movie should I watch?
  8. What games should I play?
  9. How much is my budget?
  10. Should I start blogging again?

Sorry still not that good in editing pictures

So, any ideas?

My To-Do list

World War 3 is now over and finally I will have a few months of peace ahead. I have been wondering and thinking for the past few days now. What should I do to keep me occupied until my SPM result is announced? I have at least 4 months of holiday ahead of me. What should I do? I can't be wasting my time playing computer games the whole day. Besides, I have started to get bored with playing computers and surfing the internet. I want to do something new and novel. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do during my holiday? Is there any activity that is fun and beneficial at the same time? This is basically one of the longest holiday I will have in my entire life. I might not get to experience such a long holiday for the rest of my life ever again. I want to spend this holiday doing lots of stuffs. I want to learn many things. Here's a list of what I want to do during my holidays:
  1. Learn how to swim
  2. Work as a part-time tutor
  3. Learn how to cook
  4. Do some house cleaning
  5. Read books and newspaper
  6. Blogging
  7. Watch animes
  8. Play Ps2 games on my computer by using a Ps2 emulator
  9. Get a driver licence
  10. Go shopping with some friends
  11. Jogging in the morning and play badminton
  12. Learn mandarin

Unfortunately my dad is currently unemployed and he hasn't found a new job yet. So, money is a factor that I have to consider when planning my activities. Currently, my 10th option which is learn to drive has been cancelled due to financial problems. At first, I planned to learn to drive now since this is probably the longest free time I will ever have. Now, I might also need to cancel my plans to learn to swim depending on the fees. ~Sigh~, sometimes I wished that I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth. (That means have inherited wealth since born). If only I'm rich and have lots of money. I could have learnt so many thing and do so many stuff. However, I might grow up as a spoiled spend thrift in the end. Could anyone suggest some good ideas on what I can do during the holidays? Or even better, donate some money to me. :p
