Anyway, I of course are among the mature and austere people. In fact, my new mobile phone was given away free by my neighbour. He earns a lucrative profit every month by selling fried ‘kuoy teow’. One day, he dropped his mobile phone out of the blue and damaged it a little. Then, he gave it to my father, and my father repaired it and gave it to me. However, don’t underestimate this mobile phone. It may appear old but in fact its component is powered by the technology of Asashi. Its powerful components include Asashi Hyper Core Duo processor (2.8Ghz), 4GB of ram, Asashi Onboard Mobility Graphic Hyper 9600 and running Windows XP Asashi Mobile Edition. It is so powerful that it is capable running the latest game designed for PC such as Need for Speed Carbon, Battlefield 2142 and so forth with the highest performance settings. Crrkk, crrikk, crrokk, CRACKED
How are you, my dear ardent fans? I think I have finally realized that even how life can be pathetic and miserable, life can still be joyful and blissful as well. The problem lies in how well one can handle his or her own predicaments and how well one is mentally prepared to face any imminent agonies in life. Those who can’t usually run away from their problems by doing foolish actions such as suicide, take drugs or succumb to alcoholic liquors to ease their miseries and sorrows. These actions are just temporary relievers and won't help solve the problem. The best remedies in facing these negative feelings are to have an open-mind constantly and embrace those sorrow feelings. Sooner or later, the pain will gradually fade away and he or she will feel much better. Certainly, this immense pain is the pain from breaking up with your loved ones especially when that special person of yours started to date another person than you. Are you wondering that something had happened between Pei Wen and me? Don’t deny it. I know what lurks in your minds now. Yes, it is what majority of you assume. In fact, this happened about a month ago. It took me quite a long time to accept that heart-breaking fact and recover from the pain. It’s not easy to forsake the pain especially when you have liked that person for more than a year. Anyway, I have long foreseen such an incident would happen one day. In fact, I have also decided to just be friends with her before this incident occurred but I didn’t expect the pain to be so excruciating. Ever since the day she expressed her feelings until recently, both of us have never been intimate. Whenever we spoke to each other, it was like meeting a new stranger whom you have never seen before. May be, it was because we expressed our feelings for each other too early. May be, it was because I was too shy. May be, it was because I was not romantic enough. May be, we weren’t meant to be together. May be, she was just flirting with me actually. May be this is called blind love. She has always been complaining that I have always been shy and not doing much as a “special person” such as asking her out for a date, accompany her in class, chat with her, call her and etc. In class, I would often chat with the boys and she would chat with the girls. We seldom sit together and chat because there is nothing to chat about. One day, our head prefect had fallen in love with Pei Wen and decided to go for it. He always chatted with her, help her with her St.John’s work, buy her chocolates, cards and etc, and he even cooked spaghetti specially for her. So, finally she decided to be with him. At first, I was really depressed when I knew this fact. It was really heart-breaking and I don’t have the mood to do anything. Whenever I saw them together, jealousy would totally engross me and the pain was indescribable by words. After a certain period, I started to think positively as I knew this feeling must not continue any more because it would affect my life and study. I seek help and advice from some of my closest friends Lychee and etc. I shared with him my sorrows and negative feelings. I told him how I really felt and I felt much better after that. I realized that even if she had not dated someone else, we would break up eventually. Now, I’m glad that she finally found a person who can spend more time and appreciate her more than me. The most important thing is that she is happy and hopefully that guy would treat Pei Wen well. Even though both of us are just friends, I would still continue to have feelings for her. It's not easy to lose the feelings I have for her since Form 1. As an ending, I would like to thank Lychee. One more advice for Burnout Racer, don’t criticise so much on love during high school because you will experience that yourself one day when you found that special girl in life unless you are sterile or a neuter.

No Money, No Talk

Throughout my life, I shall encounter many new experiences that will train me to be more mature. What a coincident as well! Something happened today too. My dad has made a whole new revolution that changed his career. It’s a new beginning towards the competitive business world for him. Therefore, let us give a big applause for my dad for he is now officially a businessman. Next time, you will see his company listed in the stock market. A few years later, he will be listed as the world’s top 10 of the richest man. Then, everyone including the sultans shall bow before us and thou shall heed our commands. MMWWAAAAHAHAHAHAA!!!! OK, OK, may be I exaggerated a little or a lot. It started a month ago when a new neighbour decide to sell fried kuay teows at night markets for a living. Another of our neighbour also started doing the same thing and they made an enormous profit every month. Before I continue, I wish to give all of you an advice. Don’t judge a book by its cover. You might imagine someone living in a small flat as poverty-stricken but actually they are extremely rich. My closest neighbour sells ais kacang at a food court and now he drives a Mercedes and a Pajero!!! The one selling fried kuay teow also owns two cars. He also has a Mercedes and a Honda Civic while my father only drives a second-hand Proton Saga which was about 10 years old. Envying of their luxuries lives, he decided to follow their footsteps but in a slightly different way. They sell foods while my dad sells traditional herbal beverages which consist of Chrysanthemum tea and “Lo Hon Ko”. In order to cope with the youngsters taste nowadays, he also bought a few cartons of different soft drinks such as 100 Plus, Pepsi and Mirinda. He opens his stall at various night markets everyday excluding Tuesday. He will have to wake up early in the morning to prepare all the beverages before 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I shall have to help him out with the housework too such as mopping the floor, wiping the windows, fans, and other household items, cleaning the dishes, drying the clothes, warming up the meals, boiling the water and helping him to prepare the beverages.

Our school also organized a Carnival Day to raise funds to allocate money for the welfare of the school as well as the students. Those money will be used completely to improve the quality and the service of the education system by upgrading the building, repairing the toilet, and replacing the damaged fluorescent tubes and the ceiling fans. These are the promises made by the Teachers and Parents Committee but as most of you know it, promises will always be kept as promises. After a few days, weeks or months, may be at least 50% of the money will suddenly vanish into thin air or kept in the account until a massive dust accumulated on it. Later on, they will say that the school doesn’t have enough money and will just keep on postponing any projects that need a lot of money. Every class had been given an order to establish a plan to raise money either by selling stuffs or organizing an interesting and exhilarating activity to attract visitors not only from our school but outsiders as well. In order to motivate us to perform better, the school offered attractive hampers for the class which made the most profit and bought the most coupons. In collaboration with the Carnival Day, we divided our class into three groups. One will make a ghost house; the other will sell food while the last one will sell beverages. Lychee, Goat, Durian and I chose to sell beverages because it is the easiest task of all the choices. As usual, we elected Durian as the leader because of his leadership and wisdom. We decided to sell lychee flavoured drinks, syrup and soft drinks. The ghost house was the most troublesome activity but the most profitable one. It does not require any capital but only a humongous effort and energy are needed to make the preparations. It was not that difficult until that idiot Cikgu Mustapha forbid us to use the new tables which were in the class and told us to use the old plastic tables and wooden tables from the classes above. We have to painstakingly move 300+ tables from the top floor to our ghost house at the ground floor. Then, we have to use newspapers and cardboards to cover up the entire light source in the class. It was damn tiring. It would be much easier if he would let us use the new tables. When the day arrived, we came at 7.15a.m to set up our stall. Business was quite good as we were out of cups before the day even reached noon. We also have to restock using our own money when our soft drinks almost went out of stock. Most of the customers preferred Pepsi. It was estimated that we sold at least 6 bottles of 1.5 litres of Pepsi. However, the profits that we made can’t be compared to the ghost house as their queuing up customers was as long as an army of ants. I think they made a net profit of at least RM500 and above while we just made around RM50 and above. That was 10 times our amount. We closed our stall at 12.45p.m and started helping Madam Lim to clean the mess made by the scumbags and imbeciles who don’t seemed to understand what the use of rubbish bin and hygiene is. They are either pig-brained, deaf, or stupid since they can’t hear or understand the repeated announcement “Jangan membuang sampah merata-rata, sila buang samaph di dalam tong sampah yang disediakan” and still litter everywhere. We spent 3 hours sweeping the floor, picking up rubbish, transferring the rubbish in the rubbish bins into polystyrene bags and throwing them into the MPAJ dumpsite. It was so backbreaking that we didn’t even have the energy to walk after we have done our jobs. The good thing was we got a RM5.00 coupon each and a RM5.00 note from the school as a reward for our contributions for the school. The carnival ended at 4.00p.m. Everyone packed their things and went home except for our ghost house. It was impossible for us to clean the place and put back the 300+ tables as we were fatigued after 8 hours of work. So, we just leave it there and went home. I was quite disappointed too as I didn’t have the chance to chat with Pei Wen. To tell you the truth, I was imagining of taking the opportunity to hold her hand if we have the chance to go into the ghost house as it was completely dark and scary inside. ~Sigh~, what a waste!!! It seems that I will have to wait for the next opportunity to hold her hands.

I love my holidays!!!

OK, OK. Lets change the topic to something more happy and joyful ok, shall we? We’ll start with my romance. Don’t be shocked, this is normal for teenagers to fall in love and like the opposite sex. First, it happened on Saturday when I finally took up the courage to call Pei Wen when my dad went to the market to buy groceries. Unfortunately, the call lasted only about 15 minutes as my dad had returned not long after the call. We didn’t get to chat much. The second time was during Wednesday when my dad went fishing. I broke my record of chatting with her via telephone when I chatted with her for almost 1 hour. This time I felt that I have treated her badly for I have never called her before because of shyness and fear of the price of the telephone bill yet she had called me about 4 to 5 times to chat with me last year. I never had the courage to ask her out on a date too last year. Briefly speaking, I seldom had a good long chat with her before. During the recent exam, I didn’t chat with her at all because I did not want to disturb her studies. She was really angry with me since that onwards and told my friend that she would not like me again if we split up one day. Well, to be honest, I was really afraid and nervous when my friend told me that. So, I think I should do whatever I can to redeem whatever mistakes that I have done to hurt her. During this recent holiday, I didn’t have the chance to ask her out because of a few reasons. First was the fact that one of our teachers in the tuition centre had to take her diploma and would be absent for 10 days. So, Jian Shi and I were ordered to replace her for 10 days. The second factor was the fact that there was a book fair at the KL Conventional Centre which I did not know until she told me about it. Besides that was the fact that the book fair mostly contained Chinese books and that’s another disadvantage for me who do not know Chinese. The third was the fact that I do not where to ask her out to since there weren’t many movies to be seen now. I’m afraid that she would be bored of places such as Times Square again. I also haven’t told her about the present that I bought for her. I still hesitate on when, where and how to give her the present. I’m still wary about whether she would like the present or not. I intend to give the present to her during her birthday which is on the 18th of June. I think I really like her this time and I do hope that she would be my girlfriend and I could hold hands with her soon.

Apart from romance, there was another thing that made me happy. It was the time when I bought my first MP3 at last Thursday at Low Yat. I have been aspiring for an MP3 player since last year since it would come in handy to remedy my boredom if I go to somewhere. So, I went to Low Yat with Durian and Goat to buy Yu-Gi-Oh cards and an MP3 at the same time. Well, first we went to the Esquire Kitchen to have our lunch. It was my first experience of eating there since the foods were expensive. One bowl of Braised Pork Noodles cost me around RM8 including the service charge and the government tax. Before that, I thought that Esquire Kitchen was a Korean restaurant. Later we went to the card shop. Just as we entered, our eyes stick on the board stating that one packet of cards containing 5 cards that were wrapped in a transparent plastic cost only RM3. At first, we thought that those were lousy cards that people have no interest in and couldn’t be sold out. Later, we discovered that some of them are actually cards in English versions that are damn useful. Some of the cards that I bought which were useful were as follows:
a.)Legendary Sea Ocean
b.)Gagagigo
c.)Sakuretsu Armour
d.)Wave Motion Cannon
e.)Winged Minion
f.)Minor Goblin Official
g.)Twin Swords of Flashing Light
h.)Arsenal Bug
i.)Dark Dust Spirit

I was also amazed and astonished by the beauty of my strongest monster card in my water-type deck, “Sea Dragon King-Neo Daidaros”: Ultimate Rare, selling at RM20. If only I brought a little more money!!! After admiring the beauty of the genuine Neo Daidaros and comparing it with my pirated version of Neo Daidaros, I have set my next target of shopping which will be a whole new genuine water-type deck selling at stores at RM70 which will include all sorts of rare water cards such as Levia-Dragon-Daedalus, Sea Dragon King-Neo Daidaros, Mobius The Frost Monarch, Torrential Tribute and many more. Next, we went to buy some games and software. I bought a new Mcafee Security disc which includes every latest security software that Mcafee offer and Hitman Blood Money. The antivirus ran smoothly on my PC but the stupid Hitman Blood Money can’t be read by my DVD rom. How am I going to go Sungai Wang to exchange a new one? After that, we went to our last spot of the day, Low Yat. We strolled for an hour at that place just to find an MP3 player which was good but cheap. Most of the good ones were which was around RM230 slightly higher than my budget of RM200 while the China branded types were only RM100+ even for a 512MB. If only I brought a little more money, I could have bought a nicer one such as Samsung or Creative TX FM instead of the plain and dull-looking 256 MB Creative Muvo Slim which comes only in silver colour which I bought for RM180.

Indisputably, the graphic performance that the PC platform currently features is far more better than the conventional video game platforms such as PS2, X Box, Game Cube and Game Boy. Those astounding graphics were actually generated by one of the hardware in the platforms which is normally known as graphic cards. The latest video game platforms were powered by graphic cards from two competitive companies. Sony Playstation 3 will be powered by the latest Nvidia Geforce 7900 from Nvidia while Microsoft X Box 360 is powered by ATI X-1900 from ATI. Both offer the most powerful engine to generate the most demanding and realistic 3-D graphics for enthusiastic gamers. Currently in the PC platform, the most powerful graphic cards were the 7 series from Nvidia and the X-1000 series from ATI. These amazing products are highly-priced that anyone who wishes to own one of these monstrous products must have at least an expense of RM600 or above. Anyone who has these products on their machines are damn rich and lucky bastards such as my friend, Goat. During form 2, he owns a Nvidia Geforce FX5500 which was a good graphic card back then. Later on, I counter back when I bought my super powerful Asashi PC, powered by an ATI Radeon 9600SE which was the lousiest card in the 9600 family but slightly better than his Geforce FX5500 when tested using the 3-D Benchmark 2005. I got a score of 480 while his only got 200. After I installed the latest driver a year later, my scored boosted to a score of 980. He envied my Asashi and bought a new high-end Nvidia Geforce 6600 a year later which scored 1400. This year, he changed into a more powerful Nvidia Geforce 7600GT. You can say that the card is 10 times more powerful than my old ATI Radeon 9600SE. His 7600GT supports the latest pixel shader 3.0 while mine supports the predecessor pixel shader 2.0. It’s the core speed of 400+ mhz and a memory clock speed of 1000+ mhz while mine only has a core speed of 324 mhz and a memory clock speed of 179 mhz. How can this be? My Asashi was defeated by an unbranded rojak PC. Never mind, because I shall avenge my Asashi buy upgrading it to an unbeatable state even by those rotten Dell, Acer, and HP.

Reincarnation

OK, let’s stop admiring the incredible and formidable power of Asashi. Recently, there was a “Single Mother Charity fund” organized by the Wanita MCA association to raise funds and aid widows who are sustaining the cost of living of their family by themselves. It was held at the Kao Ong Yeh Temple from 9.00am until 1.00pm. I with some other classmates from my tuition centre was selected by Mr.Ong to become volunteers at the fair. According to Mr.Ong, he was helping a friend who is a MCA member. He forced most of his students to buy or help him sell at least one book of coupon which cost RM10.00 each. Those who studied in An Xing during primary school days were unfortunate because Mr.Ong forced them to buy or sell 5 books of coupons. He exclaimed that the funds would also be used to help An Xing as well. LIES, LIES, THESE ARE ALL LIES!!! The funds are clearly stated for single mothers only. He forced me to buy one when I can’t sell it out. There goes my hard earned RM10.00. Frankly speaking, I didn't mind at all because it was for charity to help those needy people. Well, we went to help put at 8.00am at Sunday. When we arrived at there, we were given a yellow MCA T-shirt. After changing into our new T-shirt, we were told the stall number that we need to go to. Jian Shi and I were told to look after stall 23 which sold Muruku and coconut candy. Our business was a failure, do you know why? One packet of Muruku cost RM5.00 while a small container of coconut candy cost RM10.00. Most people did not even dare to taste the samples that we offered after hearing the price. Most of them were scared away by the unreasonable price. We only managed to sell 6 packets of Murukus and 3 containers of coconut candies to Jian Shi’s relatives who visited our stall. In fact, I think they will regret buying the Murukus because it tasted so disgusting

About my exam, I have no comments.

The Marching Competition

OK, lets stop thinking about the negative side and think the positive side instead. Well, it was a wonderful experience to be there. We saw a lot of teams from different schools compete in the competition. There were many teams with different styles of kawad. Some are slow and neat, some are fast and furious, some are blur and hopeless while others are just indescribable. As usual many participants were unconscious especially Malay girls who wore tudungs during kawad. It must be either heat stroke or dehydration from all the sweating and terrible heat. Eiihhh, we kawad in the middle of the hot sun le and it was in the afternoon, what u expext!!! Those obligations of having the girls wearing tudungs and long sleeves just to cover their arms and hairs are just ridiculous. No wonder they became unconscious and collapsed just like that. Beneath their uniforms must be like a chicken roasting in a microwave oven. (Sorry for this sensitive issue but it is the fact you must accept) It’s so damn hot even for us who guys didn’t have to wear tudung and long sleeves during kawad.

Anyway, there was still one last thing. It was the photography session. I was not included for the photography session for KRS even though I was the co-president of the team. I was not informed to wear my uniform by anyone. Therefore, I and another Form 3 AJK were the only one who missed out the photography session. How can this happened to me!!!

A Dreadful Life

For those who have gone through the days of Form 4, you will understand my sufferings and pains that I am going through now. I’m struggling very hard to cope with the stress and the long syllabuses of Form 4. For instance, there are 60+ pages to read for History and that only include chapter 1 and 2. It took me 1 hour to read 10 pages. After that horrible hour, my head started to ache which disabled my ability to absorb anymore knowledge. So, I just closed that hideous revision book, switched on my PC and played for an hour before starting my revision on Add Maths. The next day, I went to Lychee’s house to do our revision together. We started revising History at 8.40 a.m. and asked each other questions on the topics which we have read. It was a good revision as we can remind ourselves on the topics that we have read and revise the topics which we have missed out. We revised consecutively even though we are reluctant to read History. Eventually, we got bored and decided to revise Physics instead. Still, it was not easy as well. The formulae were confusing and long. In the end, we gave up and played Yu-Gi-Oh cards at 11.45a.m while waiting for my dad to fetch me. At that time, we were overcome by despair and boredom.

Days after that, we had our exam. It was a dreadful day as most of us didn’t do well in our exam especially physics, biology and add maths. There were too many things to read and too many knowledge to be absorbed. Besides that, lack of practise also caused me to fail my physics. I was fooled by the questions in subjective. I thought the first chapter for physic is mainly about the definition of physic theories but the question asked me about a weird experiment and the calculation of gradient and I got everything wrong. It was really a trap for students like me. I was also furious with add maths. I shouldn’t have spent the whole time thinking how to solve question no.4 but use the time wisely to check my answers instead. If I did so, I would get an A for my add maths. Another subject that made me felt frustrated and despair was biology. I thought I can get an A for my biology since I have spent a lot of time reading the textbook. I read every page for chapter 1 and 2 and spent such a long time to visualise the cells and its functions but in the end, to my surprise, teacher used questions from a revision book which was not in the textbook or even in the syllabus. In the textbook, only the unicellular organism, ‘Amoeba’ are stated but in the revision book, there is one extra note about paramecium!!! This really confused me. Besides that, I would like to ask all of you. What the hell is schematic diagram??? It was not stated anywhere in the textbook nor in the revision book. I lost approximately 6 marks (haven’t multiplied it with the marking scheme yet) at the part where it ask us to draw a schematic diagram on how the body systems regulate the blood osmotic pressure!!!! What a catastrophe for me. It was really a disastrous exam. My record of never failing in an exam before will be broken!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!

Feng Shui of Year 2006

I’m not the only one who is frustrated with life during form 4. Other than me is one of my best friends, Lychee. He encountered some difficulties which frustrates him as well. The first problem was his add math’s teacher, Mr.Sarjit. Lychee was once scolded by him but after that awful incident, he tried to mend the relationship with his teacher. Unfortunately, that teacher scolded him again and insulted him that he has no brain when Lychee said “haaaaaaa” when he said that they might need to come for an extra class at Saturday. Later, he told his parents about his teacher but he was scolded again by them for being impolite to the teacher. When it came to love, things turned out to be a tragedy too when he asked his girl friend if she would be willing to go out with him on a date. Sadly, she shook her head and did not said anything. This cut his heart even deeper (OUCH!!!). After school, I was shocked when he called me and told me what happened and started crying on the phone

Hhhhhmmmm, I have not chat with Pei Wen via MSN for a long time already. Do you think that she has blocked me? I missed chatting with her. I hope that she will be online soon.

Memoirs of a Chinesehitman

For your information, I have been working as a tutor during the holiday as a tutor. When I mentioned my job, don’t misunderstand me because I know that majority of you will think that, “What’s that difficult of being a tutor especially when you are teaching pre-school and primary students? Their syllabus is the most easiest to teach compared to older students and they are just kids who will be afraid and respect you just because you are older and appears fierce”. Well, let me tell you something. You’re completely misunderstood the job as a tutor. In fact, it is the other way around. Some of the youngsters and toddlers whom you call cute and obedient are actually monsters and demons responsible for bringing peer pressure and stress to the teachers around you but don’t misunderstand me again as I said some of them not all of them. There are logical explanations why I said this. As all of you know, children are born with an inquisitive mind and a curious desire to explore and learn the things around them. Parents have the responsibility to make sure that their children develop an interest in reading and learning educational things. Unfortunately, some of the parents use the wrong technique to guide their children causing them to develop an interest in playing instead of studies. If any of you teach this kind of pupil you will have a day of headache and an increase in your adrenalin. Fortunately, most of my current students are quite obedient. Among the students I like the most are Aqil and Pony. Aqil is currently 6 years old. He is a bit fat but the important thing is he is obedient and fun to play with. Pony is not only cute but a smart girl as well. She is only 5 years old but can catch up faster than the pupils older that her. The only thing I hate of teaching children is because I need to act like a child at certain times, sing and dance (actually I just clapped my hands instead of dancing) with them just to make learning more fun. Besides teaching toddlers, I also teach pupils from standard 1 until standard 6. There is not much to talk about them as at this age they are usually very quiet and boring. Another good thing about being a tutor is the good relationship I have with the pupils. Some of my students even became friends with me. Two of my students even bought me a pen after they heard that I got straight A’s for my PMR.

Even so, not all of the days during the school holiday is a living hell. Among the good days is Christmas. Like most of the Buddhist out there, I seldom celebrate Christmas but this holiday is totally a new experience and a sweet remembrance that I would remember every Christmas. Try to guess where have I been for Christmas. Mr.Ong’s house!!! You should see his house!!! It’s like a palace with a beautiful garden and decorations all around the house. The interior of his house is just too beautiful to be expressed by speech. Just look at his furniture!!! His chairs are made from premium imported Ross wood, decorated with genuine pearls which is somehow glued into the wood. He also owns imported paintings from China as well as a big stone with bright indigo crystals inside it. Then, there’s also the big cushy tiger which appears so real, crystal lamps, an antique clock and a cabinet used to store expensive liquors and alcoholic drinks such as red wines, vodkas, martinis and beers. His house is located somewhere near Ampang Point. You should easily recognized his house by the night because his house is the brightest compared to the bungalows of the famous corrupted Datuks, Datins, Ministers and popular artists. Ok, enough of the long description of his house and let us continue with the things that we did during that Christmas. On that day, Jian Shi and I went home at 6.00p.m after we had finished our duties. I felt so anxious to see Mr.Ong’s house for the first time and to check whether the rumours about his house are true or not. When I returned home at about 6.15p.m, I quickly had a nice cool bath to clean myself of the dirt and odour after a long and stressful day of work. Then, I just collapse at my bed to rest for a while before getting prepared for the great party. At eight, Mr.Ong give us accommodation to his house by his Toyota Harrier. Only Jian Shi and I went arrived first since we had to lend him a hand for the preparation of the party. When we arrived at there, the first word that came out of our mouths was “Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh”. Frankly speaking, his house was like a palace for the Sultans to live. Unfortunately, it was drizzling at that time. So, we had to for the rain to stop because there wouldn’t be any barbeque if the rain extinguished the fire. Then, Mr.Ong told us to wait for him as he went to fetch the others which consist of Lily, Yan Xiong, Yan Yu, Pei Li, Joan and the uninvited Jeffrey. While he went to fetch them, Miss Lim (Mr.Ong’s wife) invited us to join her for a little dinner to fill our stomach while waiting for the drizzle to stop. When everyone had arrived, Lily played the piano to entertain us while still patiently waiting for the rain to stop. When I heard her playing the piano, I was startled to hear the calming and soothing music that she played. It made me really envy her skills. If I had money, I would also wanted to learn to play piano but sadly I do not have enough financial income to do so. At 10p.m, the drizzle finally stopped and we unpacked our barbeque sets to get started. We lighted the charcoal and maintained it as a small fire as we did not want our food to be scorched. Next, we placed the foods on top of the wire gauze and wait for it to be cooked. There lots of mouth-watering foods such as salmon fish (non of us have the chance to taste it), “kamung” fish, satays (it is special because it has no fat in the middle and the meat is very tender and juicy) and hotdogs. While waiting for the foods to be cooked, someone insert a CD containing party songs such as Chicken Little and Crazy Frog as well as Christmas songs such as Jingle Bells and etc. Then, the music gave a sudden shock towards Jeffrey. He started to react weirdly and began to dance with music. Not want to miss that golden opportunity, U Vin quickly record the dance into the camcorder he is holding (but he only recorded the second time Jeffrey danced, the first dance is longer and funnier). It was certainly a laughable moment. Not long after the dance, he suddenly underwent a sudden emotional change from a happy face to a “boo-woo” face. We did not know what caused the sudden change. May be, the dance triggered a sad memory from his past. Most of us thought that it might because he failed his examination while others thought that he was scolded by his elder sister(Joan) for his childish behaviour. After trying to coax and calm his feelings, he said that he is worried about his taekwando test that will be held next week (Ceeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhh). So, it was just a waste of time and energy to coax him after all. That is not end of his crying episode. He later cried for the second time when her elder sister forbid him from eating too much (quaaaaahhhhh, I’ll tell mami when we get home). After feasting on the delicious meal, it finally came to the most unforgettable scene of the party which is trying different kinds of alcoholic drinks for the first time in our lives. Until today, I still can’t understand the pleasure of drinking these kinds of stuff. All of us were given a little of different samples. Mr.Ong told us to sip it slowly and enjoy the delightful taste of the expensive red wine (yaaaakkkkhhhh), vodka (passion fruit flavour), martini (coffee flavour) and beer. Things were different for Jeffrey. He drank the glass of wine in one gulp as though he was drinking water like in the movies. His actions then transformed him into a mad bull on rampage. He kept on pulling U Vin’s arms like it were drumsticks attached to a roasted chicken (yam-yam). The alcohol also had some effects on the rest of us too. Our faces were blushing like red tomatoes which are freshly plucked from the trees. Then, came the most terrible thing of all …………………………… (Sorry, this part is censored due its undignified content). At 2.00a.m, the party was dismissed and we went home in Mr.Ong’s Harrier. Unfortunately for Jian Shi, he forgotten to bring his keys and had to scream to wake his family members from their beauty sleep.

While everyone was happily celebrating New Year, I wasn’t quite eager to celebrate New Year instead. Finally, the most terrifying year of all had arrived. It’s the year which I had to take the burden and responsibility in making a vital decision that would change my life forever. I had to choose whether I should enter Science or Account stream. There are many elements that are needed to be taken into considerations such as dream of being luxurious, job satisfaction, and the burden of entering such stream. Neither Science nor Account stream is perfect. Both have their pros and cons. If I choose Science, I have to sacrifice most of time to revise which I don’t have due to my part time work. This will be a burden to me but the career options may provide me with the job satisfactory I want since Science is an interesting subject compared to Account which is so boring and dull. In real life, I would have a more diverse path to choose if I enter Account stream. The possibility of me hitting a jackpot if I enter the competitive business world is also high. The chance of finding a job and receiving high wages after years of working experience and getting promoted is quite promising. Still, that comes with a price as I have to sit for a series of test before getting my degree. Besides, being indulged in the Accountancy is very stressful as I will have to face numbers and computers the whole day. Last but not least is my financial problem and whether I will get a scholarship or not. If I am unable to get a scholarship or a sponsorship, I will end up wasting my 14 years of learning and gaining knowledge. If I selected the wrong stream, I will also end up as a low wage earner or worst of all, unemployed. Instead if I selected the right course, I might end up being wealthy and have a happy family. Why life can’t be more scrupulous and fair? Why can’t everyone be rich and live in the world of luxury without going to so much trouble to study and hunt for a job, or finding the right business? TELL ME WHY!!!

This year, I decided to do something very drastic that I might regret. I think Pei Wen and I should just be normal friends after 2 months of consideration and thinking. First of all is the communication gap that we have between us. We barely can find anything that we have in common to talk about except for our studies. Next are the differences that we have. Her hobbies are watching Astro and movies, listening to Cantonese and Chinese songs, and playing SMS and miss calls. I am a totally different person from her as my hobbies are playing computer games, surfing the net, reading newspapers (only ‘The Star’), typing my blogspot, do some research on the latest hardware (especially graphic cards) and software and chatting via MSN Messenger. Let me ask all of you. Do you see anything in common between us? The answer is almost none. Another factor is her attitude. I’ll tell you a story. Last year, just a day before school ended, Pei Wen and I had decided to meet at school just for a look at each other before the holiday started. Beside us, some of our friends also came to school. As usual, we just can’t seem to find anything that we talk about. So, after a while, we decided to do our own things. I played Yu-Gi-Oh cards with some of my friends at the back of the class while she played Chinese chess and Poker cards at the front. I didn’t join the since I was not that familiar with Nam Yen and the others. Another thing is I don’t gamble. At around 10.30a.m, my friends and I started to get bored. So, we went over there just to have a look. I even played for a moment but I don’t really felt happy even though I won some money. Instead, I felt lonely and sad. She on the other hand, looked happy and seemed to enjoy herself. After a game of Poker, we played some kind of game that involves putting our hands together. She played that game and put her hands on top of other boys’ hands without feeling ashamed of herself. Then, she played some kind of “tepuk-tepuk” that was once played she was in primary school. At time, there were all kinds of unhappy feelings in my heart. That was also the time that I decided we were not meant to be together. Since that day, I rarely talk to her anymore. Although we are of the same class, I ignored her as though I have never met her before. It is a tough job trying to forget her. Even though I reacted in such a way, I still have feelings for her.
