The Chinese Dilemma

Almost everyday we have to make choices in our life. Sometimes we were given so many choices that we don’t how to decide. For a frivolous person like me, I don’t usually regret on what I have chosen most of the time. As long as the choices I made are good, it would be enough to satisfy me. However, sometimes I do wonder whether or not I made the right choice. I’m not like a cranky old auntie who is always wondering what to wear and what to buy when shopping. When it comes to food, I’m not cranky either. I’ll eat the food that is available as long as it is considered as human food and it can fill my stomach. I also don’t have any problem when it comes to choosing the suitable attire to wear. Well, you know la, a gorgeous looking man like me will always look handsome in whatever attire I wear. Cool However, things are different when it comes to situations that involve money. As you know, I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I’m just an ordinary teenager who gets his monthly allowances via part-time jobs unlike my super hyper advance rich and pampered friend, U Vin. That means, no work, no money to spend.

Now, I’m in a dilemma which I usually don’t have. Not long ago, I accidentally dropped my cellular phone when I was asleep. It happened out of the blue when the alarm of my cellular phone activated. Annoyed by the noise, I accidentally pushed my cellular phone which I put at the table beside my bed, causing it to drop to the ground in the midst of trying to deactivate the alarm. The sound of the crash woke me up and I was shocked at what happened. When I picked it up, it was switched off. I couldn’t switch it back on. Then, I opened the casing of the phone and tried the usual knocking and shaking, hoping that it can be switched back on again. After a few attempts, I can switch it back on again but it was not the same as before. I think the impact damaged the transmitter of my cellular phone because I can't get a full signal bar. Now, I would only get 2 signal bars out of 4 when I am at outdoors. Worst of all, it can’t receive any signal at all when it is indoors. Fortunately, there’s a transmitter dish at the condominium beside my house. So, I would get 2 signal bars at home. Sometimes, the phone would turn off itself when I press a button. I’m in a dilemma of whether to buy a new cellular phone or to repair it. Repairing the phone would probably cost RM50 only but I have also considered the fact that this phone is 5 years old and have been repaired a few times before. Even if I repaired it, it would probably break down again in a few months. So, I was wondering whether or not to buy a new cheap cellular phone which ranges from RM150 to RM200. A cellular phone with a camera would also be convenient. I can make my blog more interesting by putting more photos. Sometimes, I find my blog quite dull too because 90% of my blog are just words. I don’t need fancy phones with GPRS, 3G technology, and web browsers because my main objective of having a cellular phone is for communication purposes. Can you help me to decide? I’ll put up a poll at the bottom of my blog for you to vote.

ring,ring.... ring,ring

Most teenagers have started owning mobile phones even since primary schools. They are willing to waste their money to buy such sophisticated gadgets. Those spendthrifts can even afford to spend hundreds or thousands on a new model of mobile phones which are just released on the market. They don’t seem to understand the endeavours needed to earn the few hundred ringgit notes. They can even spend money profusely as though money grows on trees and all they need to do is to harvest it whenever they need to buy things. This might due to the fact that they have rich parents and lives in a lavish life. In their mind, a few hundred ringgit as pocket money is only a miniscule amount. Among these rich fellows are my chums: Burnout Racer and Andrew. However, some of these spendthrifts even originate from poor families. They are even willing to play truant just to work part-time to earn money so that they could buy a mobile phone. To them, owning contemporary mobile phones and being up to date with the latest trend are criteria they must garner in order to socialize with and prevent themselves from being ostracized by their peers. Others buy mobile phones because of romance. They want a mobile phone so that they could chat more intimately with their lovers in their room without using the telephone in the living room and revealing their ‘little secret’ to their kin. In my opinion, the latter reason might be acceptable but those who buy mobile phones for the first reason are childish and immature.

Anyway, I of course are among the mature and austere people. In fact, my new mobile phone was given away free by my neighbour. He earns a lucrative profit every month by selling fried ‘kuoy teow’. One day, he dropped his mobile phone out of the blue and damaged it a little. Then, he gave it to my father, and my father repaired it and gave it to me. However, don’t underestimate this mobile phone. It may appear old but in fact its component is powered by the technology of Asashi. Its powerful components include Asashi Hyper Core Duo processor (2.8Ghz), 4GB of ram, Asashi Onboard Mobility Graphic Hyper 9600 and running Windows XP Asashi Mobile Edition. It is so powerful that it is capable running the latest game designed for PC such as Need for Speed Carbon, Battlefield 2142 and so forth with the highest performance settings.
Asashi’s Believe It or Not!

Does anyone know what model it is?
